Black Outside, Inc provides a variety of programming to (re) connect youth of color to the outdoors. Our programs are crafted, influenced, and executed by a diverse team of volunteers who collectively ensure each outdoor experience is not only culturally relevant but inspires a love of the outdoors.

Black Outside partners with schools to facilitate immersive outdoor experiences throughout the school year to deepen the social-emotional skillset of students

During the summer months Black Outside provides low-cost summer overnight camps to youth of color thereby expanding access to summer enrichment opportunities for students

Black Outside partners with youth service organizations to plan and execute one-off summits in the outdoors that  strengthen student relationships and leadership skills

Camp Founder Girls - This past summer Black Outside was proud to resurrect our country's first summer camp for black girls. Camp Founder Girls is one of the only summer camps led by and serving black girls from San Antonio. For more information click the logo.

Brotherhood Summit 2020 - Each spring, a mission-driven collective of Black male teachers and mentors convened Black male students from across San Antonio for a day of mentorship, community-building, and leadership development. In the spring of 2020, Black Outside will facilitate the Brotherhood Summit as an outdoor retreat. For more information on last year's summit click the "Brotherhood logo"

Eastside Explores - This upcoming fall Black Outside will launch our Eastside Explores the outdoor education program. Eastside Explores partners with two schools located in the historic eastside community of San Antonio to craft day-long outdoor explorations for students.
